Being Two
This course is designed to develop practitioners’ understanding of how two year olds experience and try to make sense of their world in this critical year. Areas covered include schema, brain development, attachment and a focus on the prime areas, especially communication and language. Reference is made to the Progress Check at two and two year old funding to reflect the benefit of early intervention, especially for disadvantaged children. The course explores how practitioners can support two year olds to flourish and enable parents to engage with this at home too.
Communication & Language 0 - 3 Getting it Right from the Start
This is a brand new course exploring supporting communication and language from babies onwards.
As communication is vital to all other areas of development it is vital that we get it right from the start to ensure that all children can reach their full potential.
The aims of the training are
- To understand stages of young children’s communication and language development

To develop strategies to support young children’s communication and language development including those with EAL and speech and language difficulties

To be able to work with parents and other professionals to support speech hand language development in very young children.
