Early Years Side by Side Core Groups for PVI & School Nursery (North)
This academic year, as part of our Early Years Side by Side programme, we are focusing on strengthening outcomes for our most vulnerable children through effective assessment and targeted strategies for rapid improvement.

Jan Dubiel, a nationally and internationally recognised specialist in Early Childhood Education, will lead a series of tailored training sessions for PVI and reception cohorts.
These sessions will explore the barriers that can prevent children from achieving the GLD, alongside practical, evidence‑informed approaches to address these challenges and common pitfalls to avoid. The programme will conclude with joint sessions bringing together participating PVIs and schools to celebrate the year’s work, strengthen transition arrangements, and reflect on the positive impact for children’s attainment and outcomes.
There will also be a full-day session in the summer term, bringing together all North settings and schools on one date, and all South settings and schools on another; dates and venues will be confirmed once final arrangements have been agreed.
Early Years Side by Side Core Groups for PVI & School Nursery (South)
For PVIs and Schools involved in the Side by Side Programme places are now exclusively available to book by invitation until 1st September 2026. You are only required to book from a choice of 2 (two-day) events. Both sessions must be attended to complete the programme.
